Students from a local pre-school visited the fire station. Firefighters and EMTs from Pleasant Gap were on hand to demonstrate the tools firefighters and EMTs use, to give tours of the fire apparatus/ambulances, and to discuss fire safety.

Special thanks to Denny Weaver, Jeff Corbets, Josh Araujo, Derek Hoover, and Frank Kachurak for their assistance with this visit.

April 14, 2008
Students from the Penn State KINES 403 (EMT-B) class visited Pleasant Gap Fire Company to participate in a vehicle extrication and gaining access lab session. Students had the opportunity to see how an extrication takes place and to practice patient care and removal from a simulated MVA.

April 5, 2008
The members of Company 8, family, friends, and community members gathered on Saturday, April 5th at the Nittany Valley Country Club for our annual dinner. Members enjoyed food, drink, and gave thanks for a successful and safe year. This year's Engine Room Award was presented to Jeremy Royer; the Ambulance Award was presented to Gary Royer; and the Fire Police Award was presented to Tom Shade.

April 29-30, 2008
Members from Company 8 and Ambulance 8 were present at the Centre County Fire Training Site for the curing burn session. In order to safely ready the burn building for routine use, a specific process of heating and cooling each room was followed. Members provided fire standby services as well as EMS standby and rehab services.
